Johnsonville Sausage 200 QUOTES & NOTES: Road America
This weekend’s event is the first of three road courses this season; what are your thoughts on racing on road courses and how do you like Road America?
First of Three Road Races this Season… McClure will compete in his 213th NASCAR Nationwide Series event this weekend and his fourth at the historic 14-turn facility. This race marks the one year anniversary of the 34-year-old driver’s return after missing six weeks last season due to injuries sustained in an accident at Talladega Superspeedway. In three starts, the Virginia driver has completed 94.3% of the total laps attempted and has an average finish of 25. Last season, McClure finished 21st, a track-best for the Virginia native.
Chassis No. 5 … McClure will pilot chassis No. 5 in this weekend’s Johnsonville Sausage 200 at Road America. This chassis was last used at Dover Int’l Speedway where the team posted a 24th-place finish.
Take Me Out to the Ballgame…McClure loves the game of baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves and it just so happens they are playing the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night. Following Friday’s practice session, McClure will return to Milwaukee to catch the game.
Tune-In: Saturday’s race from Road America will be televised live on ESPN beginning at 5:00 p.m. (ET). MRN (Motor Racing Network) and SiriusXM Radio Channel 90 will also broadcast the event live on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
